Shooting Proficiency Demonstration. Are you ready?
During the live fire shooting portion of the course, you will be required to demonstrate proficiency with a handgun by shooting a 50-round course at a target at 3 distances.
- 20 Shots from 3 yards
- 20 Shots from 7 yards
- 10 Shots from 15 yards
All shooting is from the ready position; no holster shooting or drawing from the concealed position is required.
You will also be required to demonstrate your ability to safely handle and operate a handgun. To pass, you must score at least 70% (175 out of a possible 250 points).
After you pass this portion, the instructor will complete your Certificate of Training, which you must submit to the DPS to complete the class.
Equipment Rental
You can rent a handgun from us for only $20, which includes the ammunition, and safety equipment.
What to bring to the range
- A Driver's License or ID card
- A handgun (we have handguns with ammo for rent for $20 with prior arrangements)
- At least two magazines if you have them
- 50 rounds of ammunition
- Your Certificate of Training. You may email it to us or print it and bring it with you.
We can provide the safety equipment.
